2-3 PM Check-In

5 PM - We will have a social hour at 5pm -6pm and go over the 2 days of hunting , what to expect, the terrain and how we will break up groups to hunt.

6:30 PM - We will have Dinner prepared. After dinner we will go over safety briefing on gun handeling and field work when it comes to hunting pheasants.

8 PM Camp fire and social

• Ladies Only

• $950 (all inclusive- guide fees, lodging, food), gratuity to guides not included

• 12 spots

• guided hunt

• The hunt is benefitting suncatcher ministries

• must have shotgun experience, hunting experience not required

• proceeds to support Suncatcher Ministries

• Public land w/n 20 minutes if you would like to hunt other then dec 12-13

• dog policies:

  • You may bring your hunting dog only if they are well mannered, are trained for hunting birds: Flushing, Retreiving, Pointing, and are not aggressive towards other people or dogs. This hunt is not a time for training a young dog.

  • in the event your dog is aggressive or not providing to the hunt you will be asked to kennel them for the remainder of the event

  • heated dog run on property as well as a heated shop to place a dog kennel

  • dog kennels allowed in rooms

  • if you are not sure about your dog leave them at home, the guides will have dogs, come enjoy the hunt

• payment:

  • $500 deposit due to hold your spot

  • remainder due 10/1 $450

  • In the event you need to cancel- full refund by 8/15,

    After 8/15 in the event you cannot attend, your deposit and/or remaining balance can be used in the 2026 season with SD-Hunt.

    You can find someone to sell or gift your spot too.

• Physical constraints of hunt:

  • you will need to be able to walk 6-8 miles each day with your gear

  • you will be high stepping through cat tail, sorghum, CRP grass, and corn

• a waiver will be required, the waiver link will be sent closer to the hunt

• Transporting upland game

  • yes you can fly with your birds

  • bring a soft-sided cooler to easily transport them on your flight

* In the event the hunt needs to cancel we are not responsible for any expenses incurred by you. Please book refundable travel as the weather and other factors are out of our control. your payment will be fully refunded in the event we need to cancel due to weather or unforseen circumstances.

Pheasant Hunting Gear

• Blaze Orange Stocking Hat or Ballcap

• Water-resistant or canvas front pants

• Blaze orange hunting shirts (Weather permitted)

• Guns: 12 gauge, 16 gauge or 20 gauge only

• We recommend Semi Auto/Over Under/Pump Action

• Upland Hunting Boots

• Hunting Socks

• Wicking Liner Socks

• Upland Pants/Chaps (If you prefer when walking through Brush)

• Wind breaking jacket

• Bird Carrier or Upland Vest

• Base Layer (Long John’s & Tops)

• Ear protection

• Shells (High Velocity 4’s or 5’s work great in South Dakota)

• Sunglasses/Shooting Glasses

• Shooting Gloves (Warm & Cold Weather)

• Knife and/or Multi-Tool

• Gallon Zip Lock Freezer Bags

• Bring a Cooler to take birds home
